Since 2015, Psychic Relic has been performing a wide range of musical styles including psychedelic rock, jazz fusion, and funk rock.  Based in Richfield, OH, the band was formed by musicians coming together with a shared musical vision. Its original members all have a long history of friendship dating back before the group was formed. The improvisational nature of the band has sparked an evolution in each member's creativity, making way for a unique experience at every performance. Psychic Relic has entailed various musical styles and instrumental changes, however, serious growth has prevailed behind the band's core philosophy: changing ourselves and the world with music.

 

Psychic Relic is now considered a jazz-funk fusion band with psychedelic rock roots, though the band explores many styles creating a unique musical atmosphere. Combining upbeat, funky melodies and groovy orchestrations, the music soothes the listeners with positively unifying sonic soundscapes.

 

 The name Psychic Relic is inspired by the musical communication involved in improvisational music. Musicians can connect nonverbally using musical cues, allowing for a special psychic connection among the band members and listeners in real time. Each live performance is a relic of its own, an artistic reflection of the environment at the time never to be reproduced.

 

The band consists of Evan Stevens on Bass, Keys, & Synthesizer, Patrick McGuigan on Drums/Percussion, Colin Romisher on Guitar, and Donald Alan on Guitar & Bass.

 

The band was created from the mix of different musicians coming together with a core bondage of history & friendship as the original members all grew up together from a young age. Over time, music and jams evolved as well as the seriousness behind the core philosophy: changing themselves and the world with music, and soon after the name Psychic Relic was created. 

 

 

Psychic Relic is now considered a groove, jazz-funk fusion based psychedelic rock band that creates an extremely unique musical atmosphere. Combining slow groove orchestrations with upbeat funky melodies that can provide peace of mind to listeners as well as complimenting the silence of space, all the way up to getting the whole floor to dance, to witness a show is to be transported to the ethereal realm of musical groove in dream space. 

As a musician, one has the ability to create and invoke strong emotional responses, and we feel the psychic and telepathic communication between a musician's creation as well as the audience impact is one of the most important aspects of the craft: the true nonphysical 'Relic' of what music can provide as well as what we try to provide. A musically unique and life-changing experience is what we strive for every time we play.
